Local Ocean Love (the original LOL)

On a recent trip to Chatham we creepily stalked the Red's Best Docks. (You know you're a real nerd who may need to find a hobby when this thrills you). Here you can find local fisherman coming in with the day's haul, or fixing equipment or coming to shore after a long day on the water. The scene is beautiful in its simplicity.

We love bringing your fish from Red's Best not only because it is caught at the peak of freshness - but because Red's Best believes in supporting local fishermen and elevating their hard work.  Its also insanely tasty. Red's takes the task of having you know your fisherman to heart because traceability is key. They even share a few portraits of the hundreds of men and women who are your fishermen. 

We love Red's Best because we believe in what they do and they save us from eating a bowl of Halloween candy for dinner. (Again.)

RECIPES

How Red's does Salmon: Red's has great recipes on their site. For salmon they have passed the baton to this great lemon dijon salmon from Saveur Magazine. We will serve with mashed sweet potatoes and let the mustard cut through all that richness.

Stir Fried Sweet Potato and Pork: Your house is going to smell amazing.

Shaved Brussels Sprouts and Kale Salad: Kale sure is good for you. Its also WAY more delicious when its covered in shredded cheese. Add the cranberries or some nuts here for different layer of flavor and crunch.

Bourbon Mint Cranberry Sauce: To hell with the turkey, I will eat this with a spoon. Or better yet over ice cream

Cranberry Cobbler:  Easy, breezy, Martha.

Note on Cranberries:
They can hang for up to two weeks in the fridge or up to a year in the freezer. 
Impress your family with homemade Cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving this year so hopefully no one talks politics.
