Happy Birthday - to us!

Happy Birthday - to us!

We have a lot to celebrate here at Family Dinner!

It is our 4 year anniversary and our one year anniversary at our space in Woburn. Add to that our expansion to Maine AND that there's a new episode of Ted Lasso dropping tonight and we are simply buzzing with excitement. (Seriously, if you haven't yet watched Ted Lasso, allow our encouraging voice to join the chorus urging you to do so. It's like hugging a puppy while simultaneously eating a warm chocolate chip cookie.)

To celebrate all of this we are offering an Anniversary Pop Up. A curated selection of all of our favorite goodies, hand-picked by our amazing team to delight your bellies and wow your friends.  We're focusing on our favorite woman-owned businesses (hell, yes!). You'll find Fresh Pasta and Sauce from Karen at Fox & Knife, Muffins from Sarah AT VINAL, Zucchini Fritters and Baklava Crisps from Jody Adams at Saloniki Greek, Quiche from Jen Park at Forge, and much more.  Check it out! Ordering is live now and will close on Sunday, 10/3 for delivery on Saturday, 10/9 and Tuesday, 10/12.

A lot has happened in the past four years and it seems time has flown by, despite the fact that each of the past 18 months contained an eon that spiraled madly to infinity.  In the photo above Tim and I had just started our business at Foundation Kitchen in Somerville, proudly cranking out 20 shares a week. (Look how well-rested and cheerful we look!) Since then we have grown to delivering over 600 shares a week and been joined by an incredible team of folks to make the dream work. We have widened our network of farmers, makers, and purveyors to bring you an increasing bounty of local deliciousness.  Best of all, we have gotten to get to know you, your families, and--most importantly--your dogs. (I'm looking at you, Lemon the Lab!)

None of this would be possible without you and you continued support of local food and local farmers. We love having you and are excited for what this next year brings!

RECIPES

(from Shannon)

Peaches, Peaches, Peaches - Working with farmers means that sometimes I'm getting updates on availabilities at 5am or 10pm. At 10pm on Sunday I was notified there was one last set of peach trees left to be picked and I said I would take majority of them for you all (and did a happy dance at one more chance at peaches!!!) So, eat them straight up, enjoy them in a peach cake or make some peach butter

Kale with Garlic and Bacon - Have some not so big kale fans you're cooking for? Like butter, bacon makes everything better. I could also see some maple roasted carrots on this too for a delicious side/lunch/heck I'd probably eat it for breakfast with an egg!

Baked Flounder with Onion and Lemon - You know I love a one pan recipe! Also, in my searching this recipe came up again, if you decide to make this, please send pictures.

Salmon and Peppers - Another easy one pan dinner for you!

Stuffed Acorn Squash - Tis the season for stuffed squash again! These are great opportunities to use up any items you may have laying around!

Lemon Chicken and Kale Soup - It's soup season and I'm so excited!! Nothing quite like a hearty broth with some kale. YUM.
