The  4th of July has come and gone but hopefully you're getting some down time to enjoy friends, Family and some delightful food. Hot grill, cold beers, maybe?

It's so easy to get wrapped up in the whirling dervish that is everyday life (work. emails. family. chores. laundry. more emails, even more laundry.)

We hope you can steal some time away from this week to take a breath and enjoy the ride. (Just the Frank the Dog here on our small road trip this week.) All that stuff, and your never-ending list will be there when you are done.

RECIPES

Grilled White Fish with Mustard (or Pesto!): This will work for the haddock or the Halibut, for the haddock I might use an impromptu train of aluminum foil, as the fish is more delicate.

Whole Scapes on the Grill: These sprouted delights from a hard neck garlic plant can be used in myriad ways. Grill them whole, chop them up raw in a salad or sauté in olive oil and add to any rice, egg or pasta dish. Bon Appetit has your back on more ideas.

Drop the Beets (on the Grill): Yes, beets are heaven on the grill. You can use foil or a pan but a good slice right on the grill itself brings out a really nice flavor. Serve alone with olive oil, dress with pesto or serve with a side of a soft chevre for extra fancy points.
